My Journey & a giveaway

It’s been nearly 10 years since I first put a child to my breast for the first time.

My aim was 6 months.

It had been a fair journey that first time near other mothers I got to know in all these years since. None the less, I knew of no other parent who was breastfeeding or who breastfed past 2 months. While I was blessed that no one discouraged me, I never felt that cheering or encouragement a new mother needs. It felt quite lonely at times.

By the time my first born was 3 months old, I knew I would breastfeed longer and spoke with my then director about working and breastfeeding.

A year passed like a dream and I didn’t even think about breastfeeding really, it had become part of life albeit a lonely path at the time. My second was born and I tandem fed my toddler and new born.

My first breastfed for 4 years and my second was still at it. I was pregnant with my third when my second weaned and for 3 months I did not breastfeed and then we were at it again. It was harder that 3rd time due to tongue tie.

My third is now nearly 4 years and still breastfeeding. Somewhere between my second and third I decided to reach the goal of 10 years breastfeeding……

…..and here we are!

I'm celebrating 10 years of breastfeeding

And I would like to celebrate this goal with you all with some fantastic prizes by some fantastic people.

Every day as of tomorrow, I will post the gift of the day and information about  the person/organisation that offered me the gift on my Facebook page. All you have to do to participate is to share and like and/or comment on the post . At the end of the week, I will draw the winners.

Blessings and may you all reach your parenting goals!
