Breastfeeding: The Beginning

When I got pregnant for the first time, I had no idea we could breastfeed. No one in my family that I knew did so and never seen anyone do it. Through my research, like many dsc09695other parents, I got to know about breastfeeding – which of course made sense and so started educating myself on this subject. But when my little one was born, I never imagined how difficult it will be to latch. With my second I experienced thrush and a baby who wanted to feed all.the. time!! Lastly my third had tongue tie and the pain in feeding was unbearable. We got thrush again – this time worse as it would not heal but kept coming back. – My story

I know what it means. I see you and I have your back mama!

Breastfeeding is natural but it doesn’t come natural for many women!

Breastfeeding should not be painful, but many experience pain due to a bad latch or a tongue tie or some other problems not visible at first glance.

Breastfeeding should be a wonderful experience…until it is not!

I am here to help you reach your breastfeeding goals through hands on support, online support and education.

What does Breastfeeding:The Beginning consist of?

Throughout this course you will understand what is normal infant behaviour and how to distinguish it from behaviour that might need medical attention.

You will understand the dynamics of how milk is made and how to distinguish between low milk supply and normal milk supply.

You will be shown the different types of latching, so you can choose what feels right for you; and how to get a good latch.

You will learn about the most common challenges that effect breastfeeding mums: engorgement, mastitis, tongue tie, thrush, sore/cracked nipples and plugged ducts and how to trouble shoot them. Giving you the power to understand more and giving you the tools to be pro active in your journey.

You will learn about the importance of support, how to find a paediatrician who is breastfeeding friendly and encouragement to build your small circle of support.

And of course I will there with for those first turbulent 6 weeks cheering you on when things are going great, encouraging you when they are not so great and listening to your rants and worries.
